Golf, Poker, and Philanthropy: Tiger Jam 2024

Founded by Tiger Woods in 1996, TGR Foundation empowers students in under-resourced communities to pursue their passions through education. The foundation provides access to educational resources and opportunities that help students chase after their dreams.

A highlight of the foundation’s fundraising efforts is Tiger Jam presented by DraftKings, which takes place over a weekend in Las Vegas. This year’s event kicked off Friday, May 31, with a golf exhibition at Shadow Creek Golf Course featuring Tiger Woods and Collin Morikawa. The duo entertained the crowd with their impressive skills and lively banter, while introducing other notable attendees from the Las Vegas Golden Knights and popular online gamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. Following the exhibition, participants then had the chance to play 18 holes on the prestigious golf course.

On Friday evening, Tiger Jam Poker Night took place at the Alibi Ultra Lounge in the ARIA Resort and Casino and was once again hosted by World Poker Tour (WPT). Among the 54 players competing were poker pros and WPT Ambassador Phil Ivey, Phil Helmuth, Maria Ho, and Erik Seidel. World Poker Tour TV Anchor Lynn Gilmartin, and commentators Vince Van Patten and Tony Dunst, also participated as well as Executive Tour Director Matt Savage in supporting the event execution. Other celebrities included Woods, Morikawa, Carson Daly, Tyler “Ninja “ Blevins, and an appearance by PGA TOUR pro Jake Knapp. One of the heart warming moments of the event was when Karina Ramirez, a TGR Foundation Earl Woods Scholar alumna, impressively placed third in the tournament after playing poker for the first time in her life.

The event concluded on Saturday, June 1, with live and silent auctions at On The Record and a Maroon 5 concert at the Dolby Live Theater in Park MGM.
