WPT Royal Flush Girls Visit U.S. Vets Initiative
At each televised tournament on the World Poker Tour, the WPT Royal Flush Girls and other WPT talent visit selected charities to learn more about the work they perform to support their local communities. While in Las Vegas for WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic, the WPT Royal Flush Girls took some time to visit the U.S. Vets Initiative to tour the facilities, meet the staff and veterans and roll up their sleeves to serve them dinner.
Here’s a little about the U.S. Vets Initiative from their site:
U.S.VETS is the nation’s largest nonprofit provider of comprehensive services to homeless and at-risk veterans. We are dedicated to the successful transition of military veterans and their families.
With 11 facilities in six states and the District of Columbia, U.S.VETS provides vital services such as case management, employment assistance, job placement, counseling, as well as drug- and alcohol-free housing to over 2,000 veterans each day. In a year, U.S. VETS will help 3,000 veterans find housing and over 1,000 veterans obtain full-time employment.
These struggling veterans are our sons and daughters, our mothers and fathers, our brothers and sisters. They all served our country. We share both the pride and problems of our military servicemen and women. At U.S.VETS we believe we have an obligation to help protect and serve those who have served and protected us. This is why we are committed to helping veterans.
